FREE Heart Health Program - Thursday, May 12, 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Although many think of heart disease as an issue for men, in reality, half of all women die of heart-related illnesses. With this in mind, the Heart Hospital at SwedishAmerican in conjunction with SwedishAmerican Medical Group/Marengo will host a heart health program at SwedishAmerican Medical Group/Marengo, 204 East Prairie Street, Suite 100 & 103 in Marengo. From 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Molly Kinkade, RD, LDN, clinical dietitian, will present, "How to Eat Heart Healthy: How to Make Heart Healthy Substitutions." At 6:00 p.m., Dr. Cassandra Lopez, SwedishAmerican Medical Group/Marengo, will introduce Dr. Premraj Makkuni from Midwest Heart Specialists. Topics will include the signs and symptoms of heart disease, risk factors, the disease process, treatment options and diabetes. A question-and-answer period and a survivor's story will follow. Be sure to arrive early to browse our informative heart care exhibits between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. A light meal and beverages will be served and door prizes will be awarded. Everyone who attends is entered into the drawing for a chance to win one of two Kindles. To register for this free program, please call SwedishAmerican HealthConnect at 1-800-996-9954.
